Linda Masarira's husband Bongani Mlotshwa has been sentenced to 15 months in jail for domestic violence. In a statement issued by the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe it reads; Bongani Mlotshwa (29),who is husband to politician Linda Masarira (41),was arrained before Epworth Magistrates Court facing charges of contravening the Domestic Violence Act by physically abusing his wife. ''The state proved that on the 5th of May 2024 the accused person assaulted the complainant thrice on the eye with clenched fists after the complainant found him sleeping in her daughter's room. He was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment of which 5 months were suspended for 5 years.A further 10 months was suspented on condition the accused person performs 350 hours community service,''said the NPAZ. The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe encourages members of the public to desist from violence and resolve their disputes amicably or seek third party mediation.
